House Moving: An Interesting Story on How It's Done

An Atlanta Constitution article from 1895 describes the work of W.C. Pease and how he was skillful at lowering houses. In this article, they discuss the lowering of the building that stands today on the corner of Flat Shoals Avenue and Wylie Street.

"It is in the suburbs called 'Reynoldstown' in the southern portion of the city. The owner Mr. J. F. Almand, saw at once the detriment of his tenant, Mr. R. T. Green, who conducts a large grocery store in the building, and he set about to have the house lowered to a uniform grade with the street."
